VENTURA AREA SQUAD CLUB

About Us:

The Ventura Area Squad Club is a non-profit, 501(c)(7) organization, consisting of officers, dispatchers and clerical workers from the Ventura Area CHP office.  Our mission is to organize, execute, and dedicate fund-raising efforts to assist our members and their families in times of emergency and to assist the community at large.

The Ventura Area Squad Club was organized and incorporated with the State of California in April 2006.  The founding officers were Christopher Terry, Jarod Primicerio, Matthew Beavers and Michael Untalan. The intent of the founding officers was to raise funds for officers injured in the line of duty, clerical workers and dispatchers in need of help, and for charity work throughout the community.  Since April 2006, the Board of Directors for the Ventura Area Squad Club has changed to Christopher Terry as President, Russell Regan as Vice-President, Matthew Winter as Secretary, and Michael Untalan as Treasurer.

In August 2006, we held our first annual golf tournament, The Officer Ray A. Schultz Memorial Golf Tournament, at the River Ridge Golf Course in Oxnard, CA.  We were able to raise approximately $500 dollars for the CAHP Widows and Orphans Fund.  In 2007, we expanded our fund raising efforts and sold T-shirts at the Naval Base Ventura County Airshow and the Ventura County Fair.  We held a raffle for a custom surfboard (Made by Proctor Boards in Ventura) at the Ventura County Fair, and we hosted our second annual Officer Ray A. Schultz Memorial Golf Tournament at Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo, CA.  During 2007, we were able to donate $1000 to the Mountain Vista Elementary School in Fillmore and several thousand dollars to individual families, both within the CHP and outside of the CHP, who found themselves in need of help.

In the coming years, we plan on organizing and executing new events to help others in time of need and emergency.  The name of our annual golf tournament has been changed to the Ventura Area CHP Memorial Golf Tournament and is being held at the Spanish Hills Country Club.
